The plane has been successfully removed from the pond. There was no fuel spilled during the extraction and there continues to be no sheen observed on the water.
Water quality screening and sampling has been completed. All results from samples collected downstream and within O’Laughlin Pond show no contamination.
Thanks to MWRA staff, DCR Watershed Division, Massachusetts State Police and MassDEP for their collaborative and successful efforts.
