Important Public Notice: Revere Street PRV Station in Winthrop

The Town of Winthrop’s Revere Street PRV Station regulates the pressure and flow of drinking water into the community from the MWRA system. A contractor has recently completed a renovation of the station as part of the town's improvement project.

To facilitate the project, a backup connection with the MWRA system was activated in February 2024, enabling the PRV station to be offline to conduct the work. With the project at the station now completed, the town is planning to reactivate the facility during the week of Monday, September 29, 2025.

Residents and businesses may experience some discoloration or slight changes in water pressure when the station is brought back online. If discolored water occurs, please let faucets run for a short period of time (approximately five to ten minutes) until clarity returns. Importantly, loss of water service is not expected.

We apologize for any inconvenience encountered as a result of this project. If you have any questions, please call the Town of Winthrop at (617) 846-1341 or the MWRA at (617) 305-5762.
