MWRA to Temporarily Lower Water Levels at Stearns and Brackett Reservoirs in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM - In an effort to assist with the inspection of the Stearns and Brackett Reservoirs’ spillways, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) will perform a partial drawdown of the waterbodies starting on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Following and during the drawdown, visitors will see an increase in exposed shoreline and mudflats at both reservoirs. Individuals should not venture near these areas due to unstable footing, which could result in unsafe conditions.

The MWRA anticipates returning the reservoirs to normal water levels by Friday, August 30, 2024.
