The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) will be conducting leak detection and potential repair work at 337 2nd Street in the city of Everett starting Thursday August 7, 2025, to address a leak within the water distribution system. In order to do so, a meter must be isolated, which may cause flow reversals in some areas of the city. While water service interruptions are not expected, residents, businesses, and other entities in the area may experience discolored water or water pressure fluctuations.
Should discolored water occur, please run faucets until water returns to normal clarity (it can take up to approximately 10 minutes) before drinking or utilizing for dishes, laundry, or other needs. Furthermore, should any water pressure issues occur, they will be resolved automatically following the repair work. Work is expected to be completed by mid-August.
