The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) will be conducting emergency repair work to address a subsurface leak in the water distribution system near the Lynnway and Commercial Street intersection in the City of Lynn. Work is expected to start on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at approximately 8:00AM to 3:00PM. The repair work is expected to take an estimated three to five days to complete, weather and other unforeseen circumstances pending.
Traffic patterns will be clearly marked, and police details will be on site to assist motorists through the work site. Additionally, road plates will be placed on the excavated site at the end of each workday to enable normal traffic use within the area.
Lastly, water service interruptions are not expected at this time. Once completed, the excavated site will be filled and paved.
