Meter Activation for Sections 24 and 25 (Watertown)

On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), in consultation with the Cities of Newton and Watertown, will be activating a newly installed meter, which will be temporarily supplied from Newton’s high system while a new interconnection is installed. This work is to support the ongoing Intermediate High Pipeline Improvements Project (MWRA Contract 6956).

Important to note, when this meter is activated it may result in discolored water and/or a decrease in water pressure for those residing within the affected area of Watertown (see image of the impacted area below). If water discoloration occurs, please run faucets until water returns to normal clarity (it can take up to approximately 10 minutes) before drinking or using for dishes, laundry, or other household needs.
