Once upon a time, there was a big rich city far, far away from everyone else. There was a very important family in this city. In fact, the most important person in the family was Mr. Young. He was important because he was the President. "It's ok to use as much water as you want because water never runs out!" But he was wrong.

All around the city people were taking long showers and leaving the sink on when they brushed their teeth. It seemed to everyone that the President was right. Then everything went wrong. When people brushed their teeth, the water turned off and when they took showers the water stopped flowing. Everyone started to complain and then they realized that the President was the one to blame. After all, he had said that there was an endless supply of water. They told the President he was the one to blame. “I didn’t know this was going to happen!” he said.

“We should use the water we have then we might get our water back” someone said. Mr. Young was still wasting water though. His water had not run out yet. “I’m going to wash the dishes!” Mrs. Young informed Mr. Young. “And the kids are playing outside with the hose!” Benny and Rosa all of a sudden came inside “the hose wouldn’t work!” they exclaimed. When Mrs. Young went to turn on the sink and wash the dishes the water would not turn on. She was astonished. They had run out of water. “It’s not ok to waste water, I was wrong” Mr. Young said. The next day they apologized and said that their water had also run out and the city forgave him. After that day everyone in the city always saved water. You should save water too. Think about some ways you can save water.
