in Boston, Newton and Watertown (MWRA Contract 6385)

About this Project:

This project is in design. Planned work includes the rehabilitation of MWRA water main sections 23, 24 and 47. The project will improve the condition of the existing water mains' hydraulic capacity and reliability and improve redundancy in the Southern High water service area. It will also facilitate water service from Shaft 7 of the City Tunnel to the MWRA Southern High Service communities of Boston, Newton and Watertown.

Project Updates

09/20/2017 Update

Boring program is complete.  This week, in-house staff are performing a test pit near 137 Brooks Street Boston in support of contract 6385 Pipeline condition assessment.  The work includes excavating approximately 6 feet by 8 feet pit to expose the pipe, cutting out a coupon, installing a closure piece of pipe, backfilling and paving
