Samples taken, science used, workers test and look for clues; to ensure the water's right, so kids can drink a glass at night; and dream big dreams while sleeping sound, unaware this process goes 'round.
Technology grows and helps us think, what can be done to eliminate stink; from waste water that flows from sewers and pipes, that needs to be cleaned each day and night; workers work hard so water is stripped, of hazards and waste so no bacteria exists; it's cleaned and refreshed for the environment’s sake, and turned into water the harbor can take.
Engineering is important too, for water flows through and through; the pipes are laid in place just right, underground and out of sight; to make sure water flows along, through all the pipes just like a song; underground high and low, the layout supports a positive flow; water swishes along the way, ready to flow another day.
Math is great, it calculates, how much water the pipes can take; numbers splish and formulas splash, and workers’ work depends on math; volume's checked and checked again, and answers written with a pen; bills are sent and money's paid, and that's how STEM helps the MWRA!!
