Today, August 11, 2023, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) has mobilized a work crew to address an emergency water main leak located on Morton Street in the City of Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood near the intersection of American Legion Highway. The work requires the excavation of the waterline, which is located within the roadway.

In order to conduct the work in a safe environment, a single travel lane will be closed to traffic at the work site. Additionally, a police detail and signage are on site to assist with the flow of traffic while work is being conducted, which is expected to last through the evening hours.
