MWRA Maintenance Potentially to Cause Discolored Water in Arlington

UPDATE: On Wednesday, May 25, 2022  after 9:00 a.m., the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority has scheduled with Arlington Water to reactivate a metered supply connection to the town at Broadway and Palmer Street, which was previously taken offline for winter maintenance. Arlington residents east of Pleasant Street and Mystic Street may experience some discolored water following the meter reactivation; if discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes stirred as flows are redirected within Arlington from this supply point. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.
