Notice to Framingham Abutters

3/4/22 Update: MWRA’s contractor will be working on Saturday, March 5 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm to finish this work, as the forecast calls for rain Sunday and Monday, which will make the ground impassable for several days. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Original:

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, along with our consultant, have identified trees along the Hultman Aqueduct route that will need to be removed because of their current condition. Most of the large, tall trees identified for removal are Red Pines and are either dead or in deteriorating condition. These conditions pose both a public safety and property concern.

The trees identified for removal are all located within the MWRA’s right of way.

Trees in this area are scheduled to be removed beginning on Monday, February 28, 2022. Work hours will be between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and will be conducted Monday through Friday. A certified contractor will perform removal of the trees.

This project will last approximately one month.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA Community Relations Manager, Jeffrey McLaughlin at (617) 839-9108 or jeffrey.mclaughlin@mwra.com, or or call MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5950.
