MWRA Work May Cause Discolored Water in Parts of Milton

work location

On November 15, 2018 the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will conduct water main maintenance near 2 West St. in Hyde Park.

The project is estimated to be completed by Wednesday November 30, 2018. The maintenance work requires water mains to be isolated and will likely result in discolored water in parts of Milton during a three day period starting on November 15, 2018 (see map, PDF)

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA Community Relations Manager, Jeffrey McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762 or jeffrey.mclaughlin@mwra.com.
