MWRA Work Will Require Lane Closure on Boylston Street (Rte. 9)
and May Cause Discolored Water in Brookline

On Monday, September 10, 2018, MWRA pipeline crews will begin excavation to repair a leak at Boylston Street (Rte. 9) and Lee Street in Brookline. See map (PDF) for the site location. This work will require the closure of the eastbound left travel lane of Rt. 9. Work hours will be 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Water service interruptions are not expected. Discolored water may occur. Water discoloration can be flushed by removing aerators and running cold water through any affected taps. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA Community Coordinator, Jeffrey McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762 or jeffrey.mclaughlin@mwra.com.
