MWRA Work May Cause Discolored Water in Parts of Everett

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is currently excavating to retrofit a blow-off valve on the Section 57 pipeline along Revere Beach Parkway near Winter Street in Everett. On Thursday, September 6, the Authority has tentatively scheduled to isolate this portion of Section 57 to support the work, and reactivate on the following day. This isolation will impact the neighborhood area of Revere Beach Parkway between Spring Street and South Ferry Street. Homes will continue to be supplied by other active meters.

Addresses in this vicinity may experience some discolored water following the isolation. Discoloration can be flushed by removing aerators and running cold water through any affected taps. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA Community Coordinator, Jeffrey McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762 or jeffrey.mclaughlin@mwra.com.
