MWRA Valve Work May Cause Discolored Water,
Low Pressure in Areas of Arlington

Location of potentially affected area in Arlington

On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will be completing valve maintenance work on the MWRA water system within the Town of Arlington. This work is scheduled to take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the area of Pleasant Street near Route 2 and Broadway at Palmer Street. The work is anticipated to be completed within one day.

There is a possibility that there may be reduced water pressure and the fluctuations in water flow may cause discolored water. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeff McLaughlin, (617) 305-5762 or MWRA’s 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5950.
