Chestnut Hill Reservoir Fish

Local residents may have noticed some dead fish at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. MWRA staff have been monitoring the Reservoir and collecting samples.  No contamination has been detected and this appears to be a natural event.
MWRA staff have reported it to Mass Fish and Wildlife, who have informed us that these types of fish kills have been occurring statewide and may be connected to the recent high temperatures. More information can be found on Fish and Wildlife’s website at: https://www.mass.gov/news/report-fish-kills-this-summer
