Night Work in Malden Required Friday, May 4

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority and our contractor, Albanese Brothers Inc., will perform night work in Malden on Friday, May 4. The work involves excavation in Commercial Street at the intersection with Pleasant Street in order to install a new connection between the new MWRA water pipe and the City of Malden’s water system. The contractor will begin work at 7:00 p.m. and finish the following morning by approximately 5:00 p.m. This work is part of MWRA's Section 14 Water Pipeline Relocation Project.

Night work in Malden required

Work will begin the evening of Friday May 4 at 7:00 p.m. and should be
completed by approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5.

Water service to your home or business is not expected to be interrupted. However, you may notice a temporary change in your water pressure and/or temporary discoloration of your water. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Matthew Condon at (617) 895-6667 (on site) or Jeff Bina at (857) 331-0048.
