MWRA Leak Repair Work Will Affect Traffic and
May Cause Discolored Water in Lynn

On Tuesday, October 24, MWRA will perform leak repairs on a 20-inch water pipeline located at the Lynnway southbound (Rt. 1A), 140 ft south from Shepard Street (map, PDF).

The work will take place 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and requires the closure of 2 left southbound travel lanes.

The leak repair will require water mains to be isolated and could result in discolored water in parts of Lynn for one or two days.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeff McLaughlin, (617) 305-5762 or MWRA’s 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5860.
