MWRA Work May Cause Discolored Water
in the Oak Hill Area of Newton

MWRA Area potentially affected by the fire flow test in Newton

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will be conducting a flow test on a pipeline in Newton. There is a chance that this work may result in discolored water for a few hours in the Oak Hill Area.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please contact Len Cawley at (617) 305-5757, or MWRA's 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5950.
