MWRA Water Line Work May Cause
Discolored Water in Parts of Waltham and Belmont

The MWRA is currently working on a blow-off retrofit on Waverly Oak Road in Waltham.

The isolation of the pipeline will take place Monday, May 16, 2016 and may last up 2 to 3 days. This work may cause discolored water in parts of Waltham and Belmont.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please call Jeff McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762, or MWRA's 24-hour water line at (617) 305-5950.
