Update 05/19/16: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has completed the work that required MWRA to lower the elevation of the Wachusett Reservoir. MWRA will start to bring the reservoir levels back to normal today.

MWRA intends to lower Wachusett Reservoir slightly below the normal operating band in May to assist the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in their construction of stormwater treatment basins at the Rte. 12 Causeway in West Boylston.

Residents and visitors will see slightly more exposed shoreline for a few weeks. It is anticipated this work will be completed by mid May. MWRA will slowly return the reservoir elevation to normal operating bands by the end of May.
