MWRA Work May Cause Discolored Water
in Parts of Waltham and Watertown

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will be reactivating a water pipeline in Waltham and Watertown on Monday, July 27, 2015.

This work may cause discolored water for a day or two in Waltham in the area South of Main Street and East of Bright Street to the Watertown line, and in Watertown in the area South of Main Street. No pressure loss is expected as a result of this work.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in the pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.

Please call Jeff McLaughlin at 617-305-5762 to report any concerns.
