Peter M. DeLauri passed away on August 31, 2006. He was 84 years old.

At MWRA, Peter was highly regarded by his supervisors and staff alike. He was well-known for his upbeat personality, technical expertise and near-encyclopedic knowledge of the MDC/MWRA sewer system and its history.

Peter joined the MDC in January, 1951. In 1993, he retired from his position as MWRA's Superintendent of Pumping, Sewerage Division.

Upon Peter's retirement, MWRA paid tribute to his 42 years of dedicated service by renaming the Charlestown Pump Station after him.

Funeral services information and an on-line guest book are available at Boston.com.
