Out with the Sludge!

A great thing happened in 1991,
The time of cleaner water had begun.
On the day of December 31st *
The world took a turn for the better, not the worse.
The Boston Harbor was the dirtiest of the nation,
It was so dirty it needed salvation.
The cleaning of the harbor took a decade plus a year,
They were determined to make the water clear.
3.6 billion dollars were used,
All put in to make the Boston Harbor improve.
When sludge dumping ended great benefits came,
The sealife were living better again.
Thanks to the cleanup the beaches were opened,
It wouldn't have happened without your devotion.
The cleaner water is safe for people to swim,
Now that the sludge in the harbor is very slim.
Cleaning the harbor was very important,
The amount of sludge was greatly shortened.
Thanks for the effort of your entire team
We proudly state the Boston Harbor is clean!
