MWRA Maintenance Work Will Cause Temporary Interruption of Water Service in Medford

On Wednesday evening, March 4, 2020, at approximately 10:00 PM, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority along with the Medford Water Department will be performing maintenance work on a local water line on High Street at Governor's Ave. The work will take place between the hours of 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM the following morning. This work will cause a temporary interruption of water service to some businesses or homes.

Normal water service will be restored by 4:00 AM on Thursday morning, March 5, 2020. Although not expected, discolored water may be possible for 1 to 2 days following this work. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iton in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light lolored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact MWRA Community Relations Manager, Jeffrey McLaughlin at (617) 305-5762 or jeffrey.mclaughlin@mwra.com, or or call MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5950.
