MWRA Water Valve Replacement Work
May Affect Traffic, Parking in Medford
near Tufts

Project work location

Starting on Monday, May 15, MWRA will perform water valve replacement work on Boston Avenue near St. Clements Road in Medford (map, PDF). The project will take approximately six weeks overall. Work hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Some of this work may impact traffic on Boston Avenue, and may also temporarily affect access to Tufts University parking lot on Boston Avenue.

This work may cause temporary water discoloration. If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used.  Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please call Jeff McLaughlin at 617-305-5762, or MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5950.
