MWRA New Water Main Installation May Cause
Discolored Water or Water Pressure Changes in West Roxbury

On Friday March 31, 2017 the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will be installing a new water main located on West Roxbury Parkway in Boston.

This work is estimated to take 3 days to complete and may cause in a slight change in water pressure or discolored water in parts of West Roxbury.

If discolored water does occur, it will result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. Please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used.  Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work. Residents may want to wait for the water to clear before using it.

If you have any questions, please call Jeff McLaughlin at 617-305-5762, or MWRA’s 24-hour water phone line at 617-305-5950.
