MWRA Submits Progress Report for the Last Five Years

MWRA -Five Year Report for 2011-2015

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority recently transmitted its “Five-Year Progress Report” to the Governor and the legislature. The report, required by the statute that created the agency, describes the agency’s accomplishments between 2011 and 2015.

The report was prepared with the assistance of a six-member, independent Citizen Advisory Panel charged with reviewing the draft report and making recommendations on what the agency should focus on over the next five years.

This report coincides with the agency’s 30th anniversary and describes the accomplishments made over the last five years. A key highlight is the completion of the $900 million Combined Sewer Overflow Control Plan, which included 35 separate projects to protect the rivers and beaches in the Boston area from sewer overflows during heavy rains and making them among the cleanest in the country.

The PDF of the report is available online. To request a hard copy, email Ria Convery.
