The Hultman Aqueduct Under Construction - 1930

While MWRA and contractors perform work for The Hultman Interconnections Project, two MWRA-owned pedestrian access roads near the Norumbega Reservoir will be closed from 6:00 AM until 4:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays.

The roads will re-open to pedestrians at the end of each construction work day. They will also be open to the public all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

The following routes will be affected:

  • The paved roadway that starts at the Wellesley Street Gate and continues over the Hultman Aqueduct.
  • The Norumbega perimeter access road from Oak Street to the Wetland Replication Area.

These restrictions are needed to protect public safety while MWRA and its contractors perform work to repair and upgrade the Hultman Aqueduct and related water facilities.

To protect the public from excavations, temporary construction fencing has been installed around the construction area on the South side of the Norumbega Covered Storage Facility.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Thomas Lindberg, MWRA Community Relations Manager at (617) 660-7974 or tom.lindberg@mwra.state.ma.us
