MWRA ADVISORY
More information on Boil Water Order in Blackstone

You may have heard on the news Tuesday afternoon about a security breach or vandalism at a water tank in the town of Blackstone that resulted in a boil water order. When MWRA received notice of this incident earlier Tuesday, we inspected all MWRA storage tanks and issued the following advisory to all MWRA water communities.

Community Advisory:

This morning a community in Central Massachusetts reported a breach in the security of one of their water storage tanks. As a precaution, the MWRA has performed visual checks of all of our tanks and covered storage reservoirs and found no evidence of intrusion or compromise of security measures. Water quality monitoring indicates that everything is normal at this time. Although we have no additional information on this incident, we would advise communities with tanks or covered storage to perform checks to verify that their security is intact at this time.

No further information is available at this time.
