MWRA to Announce Preferred CSO Control Plan
at Public Meeting in South Boston

After an extensive reassessment of combined sewer overflow control options for North Dorchester Bay, MWRA will hold a public meeting on Monday, March 8 to announce a preferred control option. MWRA has developed an alternative that provides virtual CSO elimination to protect the South Boston beaches, without building a large pump facility.

  • When? Monday, March 8, 2004, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Where? Curley Recreation Center, 1663 Columbia Rd., South Boston (M St. entrance)

MEETING AGENDA:

  • Presentation of final CSO control alternatives
  • Discussion of MWRA preferred alternative
  • Results of water quality study
  • Questions/comments before submitting the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR)

MWRA will file a Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) in late March with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office (MEPA). An additional public meeting will be held during the SEIR review period.

Please call (617) 788-1170 at least five days in advance if you need assistance to participate in the meeting or for general meeting information. Refreshments will be served.
